Axiom Starter Deck

Steampunk, industrial revolution, progression if I had to describe the Axiom faction in 3 terms those would be the first to come to mind. Axiom’s play style revolves around board presence and sabotaging their opponent’s plays.

The hero Sierra & Oddball enables you to create a Brassbug Token  when you play a permanent card with cost 3 or higher to expand your board presence. By increasing the amount of permanents in play you can keep playing these Tokens at no cost. Just a quick reminder you cannot have more than 6 tokens in your deck/on the field. But also keep in mind that you can only have 2 permanents in play during the Dusk phase.

The play style of this starter deck is pretty straight forward and easy to learn and will give you a good baseline about the game and interactions with permanents. Which is the beating heart of this deck.

Tips how to play

Because the deck revolves around having and playing permanents you want to get these out as fast as possible to get your resource loop going. Combo off of Foundry Mechanic and The Frog Prince by discarding them out of the reserve to get a Brassbug Hive on the field as fast as possible. This will ensure that you have at least one token on the field per turn.

Once you get that going it’s all uphill from there keep making small plays and get your other permanents out to get more tokens on the field which will in turn overwhelm your opponent.

In this deck there isn’t much presence in the form of removal except for Kelon Burst. So time this card wisely to get rid of a high value target at the right time. Your other cards are more supportive where you get to either Ressuply or draw cards.

Remember that you can play non-fleeting spells twice in one turn, providing you have the mana to pay for them, once from your hand and again from your reserve.
