Alternative Art Cards
Alt-Arts are, as the name suggest, cards with different art than the regular release of the card has. Within Altered alt-art cards were and will be released in many different ways, for instance as part of the Kickstarter Edition, the Organized Play promo-pack rewards and the digital rewards part of the Adventure Pass. Below you will find the currently known alt-art cards in the rarities Common, Rare and Unique (if applicable). Keep in mind this overview only focusses on the art of the card, any textual differences between the unique rarity cards are random and not part of the Alt-Art of the card.
Beyond the Gates Kickstarter Edition
As part of the stretch goals of the very successful Kickstarter run for Altered, 12 cards, 2 per faction, received an alt-art version in the Kickstarter Edition of the first set “Beyond the Gates”. The cards received that alt-art in all three rarities, for a total of 36 Altered alternative art cards compared to the retail release of the set.

Season One, Promo Pack
As part of Organized Play, local game stores will receive special promo packs to hand out on a weekly basis to players in the league. Inside these packs will be at least one alt-art Token Character card. The five existing Token Character from the Beyond the Gates set get four new artworks as promos, the two Ordis Recruit arts receiving one new, combined, alt-art in the process.

Season One, Adventure Pass (Digital Only)
Every season (roughly 18 weeks) of Altered Organized Play comes with an Adventure Pass in the app. Players choose the faction they want the rewards for at the start of the season and every time they play, the Local Game Store, will give them a virtual stamp on their pass, progressing their level. Once receiving the 5th (common), 10th (rare) and 14th (faction rare) stamp, the alt-art for that rarity and the previously chosen faction is unlocked. The player does not have to play the faction chosen to get the stamp, so players can play multiple factions, but collect stamps for the faction (or art) they like most. Printed versions of the art will be available solely through the Print-on-Demand service.

Kojo & Booda 2023 Promo
During the design process of Beyond the Gates, the artwork for the Hero “Kojo & Booda” went through a redesign. The first promo, using their original design was already printed and being distributed, however.
