March Mid Season Patch News

Today the March Patch notes for Altered were unleashed on the world. The patch notes start off by giving us a nice breakdown of all the factions and heroes played online, which confirms that the most played faction is Yzmir at 20.3% and that the most played hero is our Ordis friend Sigismar at 14.3%. Poor old Waru now has just 1% share of the meta post his adjustment, which is the lowest of any hero.

The Watchlist

The patch notes also introduce the concept of a watch list. Cards that are known to be powerful or problematic in some way but have not yet reached a threshold that require them to be suspended. These cards will be monitored by the game’s design team and will remain on the watch list until the game developers either suspend them OR decide that they can be removed from the Watchlist. Now the game developers have some future sense as they know the cards in future sets, so cards may be added here that may be future issues.

The Watchlist currently consists of the following cards:-

  • Small Step, Giant Leap (All versions)
  • Helping Hand (Yzmir OOF rare)
  • Baba Yaga (Ordis OOF rare)
  • Ordis Attorney (Ordis rare)
  • Uniques with repeated abilities (Token producing, Anchoring characters with mana costs 3 or less, and multi resupply)

The Suspended Cards Update

The cards suspended in February have received an update that will be live effective March 21st instore and on BGA.

  • Ozma (Ordis Common and Rare) – now no longer draws a card but will resupply instead
  • Haven Bravos Bastion (Axiom OOF rare) – now taps to give the next character played from reserve a boost
  • Gericht (all Uniques), Moonlight Jellyfish (all Uniques), Foundry Armorer (all Bravos Uniques) – errata has been found for these but the changes are still being tested, so these remain suspended for now.

There are no new suspended cards for this patch.

Compensation

Compensation has alas still not been decided on, with the chosen solution being retroactive.
