Gene7ik, of the competitive team The Desaltered, teamed up with Fen for an undefeated run of the AQZ Championship Week 6 March 13 on Board Game Arena. ClaedeusFR of the Altered Aces took second with an undefeated Sigismar partnership and Void1355 picked up third with Sigismar and a 5-1 record.

The 107-player tournament covered six rounds of Swiss play, and was streamed with commentary by Runefolk and Paandyandy, with special guests for the boss battle. This week’s boss battle was FraNicoRico (Sierra) vs. PaandyAndy (Fen).

According to 39cards.com, Sigismar far outpaced other heroes with 24 entries, followed by 18 playing Teija and 15 playing Fen. Rin, Waru, Treyst and Subhash skipped the event.

Gene7ik’s undefeated Fen deck leans on many of the standard Lyra tricks, including full counts of Anansi and Magpeng Hoarder (the only TBF cards present in the deck altogether). A full set of rare Ouroboros Inkcasters, two Flamels and three common Hathors keep cards bouncing back out of reserve. All three of the deck’s uniques, a Lyra Cloth Dancer, a Kodama and a third Flamel, can cause all of an opponent’s characters to gain fleeting. Two of those trigger at dusk, after all characters have been played, and the third is a support action.
