Heroes with <3% - Rin and Orchid No-Uniques Rinfest
Heroes with <3% is a series that shares decklists built around the heroes who typically pull about 3% of the competitive play distribution in our snapshot series. The goal is to provide an easy-to-share decklist for a hero who doesn’t often get a lot of attention but has a lot of heart.
It truly breaks my heart to see Rin and Orchid so low in the Altered player distribution. The Rin Festival archetype is one of my favourites to play so allow me to quickly show you my current deck, and explain how it could still be improved.
Muna Caregiver and Muna Druid give you stats on the board but they mainly give you the option to anchor cards using their support ability. You can use this to keep fleeting cards active for your Festival, or just to secure an anchored card to take the Expedition or win. Floral Tent helps keep them around even when the opposition starts trying to remove them, eating up their mana and giving you a resupply.
Coppelia should be played using Rin and Orchid’s ability – send it to Reserve, play it for free, and you have a fleeting card on the board ready to go next turn. This gives you stats pressure in an Expedition and can set up a great combo to take the victory. It can also be used as a decoy to draw out a removal before you play your winning hand.
Sleep is your friend in this deck much like anchored. It contributes to the Lyra Festival success but also keeps cards on the board. Remember – as long as you have all three conditions on separate cards you win. It doesn’t matter if they are all asleep, anchored, or fleeting. You just need all three on separate cards to win.
Finally, if you want to upgrade the deck with Uniques, look for cards that trigger those three conditions. The strongest Uniques will apply a condition to themselves and to other cards too. Preferably one of the other conditions needed for Lyra Festival.
Are you going to give Rin and Orchid a try? What other low-distribution heroes do you think need some spotlight? Let us know.
