Alt-art and exclusive cards see annual printing rights refreshed
Promotional and alternate art cards have had their printing rights restored after the start of the year, as players may print out additional copies of or sell these exclusive cards, according to a post in the official Discord server. Printing rights are refreshed each Jan. 1.
Exclusive cards cover a wide range of types, including alternate art hero cards like those in the Worlds 2025 hero boosters, the Whispers from the Maze Tumult Championship faction leader prizes or Adventure Pass rewards. Generally, uniques do not count as exclusive cards. When listed in the collection, those cards have a star icon next to the current inventory counter, as compared to the standard “card binder” icon of standard commons and rares.
Exclusive cards that have had their printing rights used can’t be sold or given/traded until they’ve been restored at the start of the year. An exclusive card put up for sale also cannot be printed or traded while on offer.
Print-on-Demand improvements
Both Marketplace and Print-on-Demand services drastically expanded their reach globally in November, reaching more than 110 countries and improving shipping rates for larger orders. The group order options allow local groups to reduce printing and shipping costs even more.
While finalizing a payment, the details now include a breakdown of each of the costs associated with the order, including printing and shipping fees as well as UPS service fees.
Printing dates have also changed recently. Instead of managing smaller print runs about twice per month, printing slots are now reserved when a threshold of 2,000 packs has been reached. Once the total crosses that number, the order closing is set for Thursday two weeks later.
The most recent print order was closed and processed Nov. 27. In the interim, players involved in the Seeds of Unity Gamefound campaign also received their digital random and faction unique booster packs.
