Altered RoC Gamefound campaign breaks $400k, reaches multiple stretch goals

Altered’s Roots of Corruption Gamefound campaign reached nearly 350,000 euros (about $401,000), breaking through multiple stretch goals. The retailer-specific portion of the campaign ends March 16 at 5:59 p.m. in Paris (UTC+1), which translates to 12:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Game store owners must have their RoC orders completed by that time to be included in the Gamefound.

Stretch goals and add-ons

With more than 1,200 backers supporting, three stretch goals have been completed as of March 15, applying to all products provided both in retail spaces and individual Gamefound orders. The current completed stretch goals including the following:

  • The drop rate for Exalted cards improved from 1 every 20 booster packs to 1 every 16 booster packs.
  • One RoC unique card is added to each box topper; the initial box topper was a full art card from Whispers from the Maze or Skybound Odyssey. A separate Gamefound box topper is included in every individual order for each 200 euros spent (about $229) that can have a WFM or SKY full art, an Evil Eye treatment or full alt art hero.
  • An additional six new Evil Eye card treatments will be unlocked and found in Collector Boosters and Gamefound toppers, bringing the total number of Evil Eye treatments to 18 cards.

The next stretch goal, which unlocks at 360,000 euros (about $412,000), guarantees a Shattered Stigma treatment in every Special Booster, which can be found at 1:144 odds among standard boosters. The 375,000-euro stretch goal (about $429,000) adds another six new Evil Eye treatments to be found in Collector Boosters and Gamefound toppers, bringing the total number to 24 cards. Additional stretch goals are planned but haven’t yet been revealed.

New add-ons have been revealed for individual backers, including increasing the number of Collector Boosters each order can include to six, and returning the popular unique and faction unique packs with Print-on-Demand credit.

Individual backers also have until noon Paris time March 16 to vote for an exclusive Gamefound playmat. The options include art for The Plague of Prejudice or the RoC key art, both with or without zone layouts.

Next steps

With the close of the retailer pledge window on March 16, the Equinox team will share the retailer total March 18. The intention is to give individual backers additional time to modify their pledges with that additional information before the full campaign closes March 20.

The overall goal of the campaign is about 2 million euros (about $2.3 million) across both individual and retailer pledges. Players can choose to preorder the RoC set directly from Equinox through the Gamefound campaign or purchase from their local game store. Retailers have a separate set of preorder tiers which give them a wider range of options over individual buyers.
