January seasonal patch goes live
If you notice a Brassbug underfoot on the Altered app or website today, there’s a good reason: The seasonal patch, released Jan. 29 with the launch of Trial by Frost, is now live on the site with a digital update. The change completes a target listed in the seasonal patch article, providing better visibility on cards that are under suspension or have an errata.
With the new patch, the deckbuilder marks lists that include a suspended card as illegal for use in official and Board Game Arena online play. On the collection page, cards that have received an errata have been updated to display the new text, and suspended cards have an hourglass symbol to remind players that the card is being reworked. Within the card’s detail page, information on the suspension and a link back to the relevant patch are listed under the Rulings and Clarifications.

The new patch marks cards that are currently suspended, and lists the decks they’re included in as illegal for official play.
This patch marks the first of two expected milestones for this season, most notably giving Waru/Mack an errata and suspending Haven’s out-of-faction rare in Axiom. It also suspended Ozma in Ordis, Foundry Armorer uniques in Bravos, and all Moonlight Jellyfish and Gericht uniques. The team talked generally about some of the issues that led to those decisions in the Feb. 19 AMA.
A second milestone is expected to come about two months after the set’s release, which would land somewhere in early April (possibly near the start of the TBF Tumult Championships, which begin April 5). Going forward, the team is planning on two milestones for each set following that pattern, including an AMA to share the team’s vision and encourage community discussion.
The update follows the Jan. 29 patch’s implementation on Board Game Arena at the start of February.
