Promo Cards

Promo cards, short for promotional cards, are cards that are generally given out at special events, like conventions and roadshows, or as a reward for playing the game from promo packs obtained at your local game store’s league days. In the case of Altered, promo cards were also available as a 1 in every 72 packs chance in the Kickstarter Edition packs.

Wave 3 (Promo 2024)

The third wave of promo cards for “Beyond the Gates” features the remaining six heroes (and companions) of the set in full art form. These promos are, amongst other ways, obtainable through the organized play promo packs at local game stores. Each promo pack offers a chance at finding one of these promo cards, but they aren’t guaranteed to contain one. Inside a promo pack you will find three cards, a foiler (in rare or unique), an exclusive token character card (alt-art) and you have a 60% chance of getting a promo card.

Wave 1 (Promo 2023, Numbered)

The very first promo cards given out were numbered out of 6. These promos are in higher demand as they will not be reprinted and can’t be ordered through the Print-on-Demand service Altered offers, if you do order one, you will receive an unnumbered version. The highest promo card in demand is the 3/6 Kojo & Booda card as it featured the no-longer-used art for Kojo, even a print-on-demand order of the old art will get you the new art. The art was changed due to it being too similar to the look of Ekko from the popular League of Legends game.
