
FAQ – Digital Services: Marketplace & Print on Demand
Here we try to collect the most asked questions from the community about the digital services Marketplace and Print on Demand (PoD) for Altered. If you have additional questions let us know in the comments below!

General
Who can use the Digital Services?
Currently the official site lists the following countries that have access:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United-Kingdom, United-States.
How do I use the Digital Services?
If your country has access you can access the Marketplace and Print on Demand in your browser, not from the App.
Are there limitations for selling and printing cards?
For regular cards (no alternative artwork) there are no limits for printing and only the regular price limits for selling.
For exclusive / alternative art cards the regular pricing limits apply in addition to limits for printing and resale / gifting.
These are explained in the official FAQ but the short version is: To truly “limit” these cards you cannot print more than you own and each card may only be printed once a year. Once printed you cannot sell / gift them for that entire calendar year.
Marketplace
Are there any price limits?
Yes.
For legal reasons there is a lower limit of 0.05 € / $ and an upper limit of 250 € / $ for each card.
Currency conversion impacts these limits so cards listed at 0.05 $ may cost lest than 0.05 €, likewise 250 € cards cost more than 250 $.
Additionally there is an overall maximum: an accounts combined offers may not exceed 2000 € / $ and combined earnings may not exceed 2000 € / $.
These limits exist for legal and financial reasons (money laundering, banking partner terms, etc.).
Are there any fees for using the Marketplace?
As a buyer: No.
Charging your account with money to spend and buying cards does not involve any service fees.
As a seller: Yes.
Per Sale there is a fee of 5%, or 0.03 €/$ minimum. Additional fees apply when transferring your earnings to a bank account.
I have some card I can’t list for sale, what could be the reason?
The are two common reasons to block you from listing a card. These are:
- The card is assigned to a Draft PoD order
- The card is an exclusive art that was already printed this calendar year.
I sold a digital card, what can I do with the physical card?
As the FAQ explains you can still use the physical card in casual play where digital ownership does not matter.
You can also help in your local community by offering the physical card to players that would otherwise use the printing service.
Additional note:
You generally do not need to worry about which QR code belongs to a digital right of the card, as long as you own any version of the card (with the same cardname and rarity), you can play any physical version of the card in your deck. (From the FAQ)
Print on Demand (PoD)
Are there additional costs for international orders?
Within the European Union customers should not expect additional costs as VAT is included in the final price and customs duties do not apply.
Outside the European Union customers should expect international customs duties to be added to the price shown on the website. These need to be paid directly and 100% by the customer as Equinox cannot predict and prepay all applicable local regulations and tariff fees.
Can I cancel a “Confirmed” PoD order?
No.
As per the terms of use the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for contracts for the supply of goods made according to consumer specifications. (Section “No Right of Withdrawal”).
Why don’t I see all my cards when adding cards to a Foil Pack?
Mostly likely the right to foil is not unlocked for that card.
The dialogue for adding cards to a Foil Pack automatically filters the list to only show cards for which you have unlocked the foil rights.
If you do not see your card(s) there you have not unlocked the foiling right for that card name and rarity.
Can I print Tokens in Foil?
Yes, but right now, only Alternative Art tokens (from Season 1 Promo Boosters) are available for printing.
The official site states this may change in the future but will require additional technical steps as regular tokens are “non-collectible”.
Do I need to scan the PoD cards I receive?
No, since these cards do not give additional digital rights (printing cards does not multiply ownership).
The QR code on them can still be used for accessing the card page in the app and for adding them to decks.
Can I print cards for my friends and give them back to them?
Yes, but please note the exceptions for exclusive art cards (see question above).
Once the PoD order is confirmed you can give back any card your friend gave to you and you will still receive all the cards your ordered.
